Kai Kristiansen (Denmark, 1929-) / About Kai Kristiansen
Danish designer Kai Kristiansen, whose simple and warm design fits well with modern life, finished his apprenticeship in furniture manufacturing in 1947, and from 1948 to 1951 he worked as a coer at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. Studied under Clint. While Clint's design philosophy was inspired by classical and traditional furniture shapes and techniques, Christiansen also emphasized a more progressive, ergonomic approach to design.
Kristiansen voraciously incorporates the excellent craftsmanship that he cultivated before entering the school and the innovative, human-centered design that was inspired by Clint, and continues to gain experience under various designers after graduation. In 1955, at just 26 years old, Christiansen opened his own design shop and began creating furniture that became known as the Danish modern style, "made up of beautiful lines, forms and the perfect balance of function". Ta. We have created many works that fully bring out the beauty of solid wood, such as the "Z Chair" and "Paper Knife Sofa", and we have carefully designed it to fit the human body with its beauty and ergonomic knowledge. His works are still loved by many people.
