The light and simple design makes it easy to adapt to any space.
Still, the plate that you can feel the power of craftsmanship will raise the impression of the space where it is placed.
Katarina Gustafsson (Sweden, 1951-) / About Katarina Gustafsson
Ceramic artist born in Umeå, Sweden.
From a young age, Katarina Gustafsson was fascinated by quirky things like broken lamps and lantern warning lights. In the early stages of her career, she became interested in the unique pottery techniques of Skåne, southern Sweden, and incorporated the method of carving regular patterns into clay, which is characteristic of Skåne, into her work. Over the years, this pattern has become a feature of her work. Preserving the shape of the unfired ceramic when it is cut in a precise pattern is a very difficult task that requires precision, and you can feel the high level of her skill. Since 1973, she has been producing hand-sculpted utilitarian objects and works of art in stoneware and porcelain near Landskrona. Her specialty is lamps, lanterns, plates and bowls with openwork decoration. Her track record includes around 60 exhibitions in galleries and art galleries, plus 100 exhibitions with companies and institutions. Public works can be seen at St. Mary's Church in Helsingborg, Suvarov's Gymnasium, Suvarov's Helleneborg School, etc.
