Easy chair designed by Finn Juhl in 1954.
Manufactured in the 1950s by the Danish furniture manufacturer France & Daverkosen (currently France & Son). The teak frame has a characteristic design using wooden balls and an elegant shape.
Many of his designs are unique and sculptural, making full use of curved lines, and are uncompromising works of art.

When he was young, Finn Juhl wanted to be an art historian, but his father objected, so he enrolled in the architecture department of the Royal Academy of Arts.
In 1937, at the age of 25, he exhibited for the first time at an exhibition of the Furniture Craftsmen's Union. I designed a chair that will be a representative work. In 1942, he built his own house in Orlopgaard, north of Copenhagen, where he lived surrounded by furniture and daily necessities of his own design.
In the 1950s, he expanded his field of activity to the United States, and became known internationally, such as by working on the interior and furniture design of the Trusteeship Council meeting room in the United Nations headquarters building. He is also active as an architect and interior designer in a wide range of fields, including the interior design of Scandinavian Airlines offices and passenger aircraft, and the design of exhibition halls that introduce Danish design held around the world.
